Capital Region Land Conservancy Kicks Off 20th Anniversary Year

20 years and counting!

Capital Region Land Conservancy (CRLC) was founded out of great care for the Richmond community and concerns for the growing impacts of development and sprawl on Richmond’s abundant natural and historic resources. Though conservation had not yet taken off in the region by early 2000s, CRLC founder, Bill Greenleaf, and a community of supporters rallied around a shared vision of a land trust focused on natural resource conservation.

That vision became reality on March 29, 2005 when Capital Region Land Conservancy was officially designated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Virginia.During our first five years, CRLC remained busy facilitating easements and working with partners to protect more than 3,300 acres. Today, CRLC has protected over 14,000 acres and our service area stretches far beyond the city limits! Learn more about our history.

We invite you to join us at Stone Brewing on Saturday, March 29, 2025 between 2:00pm – 4:00pm to help kick-off CRLC’s 20th Anniversary year and share in a toast to Capital Region Land Conservancy’s efforts to protect the land and places we love in the Richmond region.

The first 50 reservations will enjoy a drink on us! (21+) Please RSVP by March 28.

Stone Brewing is just steps away from CRLC milestone projects like protecting Dock Street Park and “The View That Named Richmond” as well as the James River Park System.

Stone Brewing is located at 4300 Williamsburg Road Richmond, VA 23231. Parking lots are located and accessible from Williamsburg Road and via Nicholson Street.
