4th-Generation Family Farm Preserved

For nearly a decade, 4th-generation Varina landowner Virginia Lipford sought help protecting her nearly 10-acre family farm with a conservation easement. In 2014, that dream finally came true when CRLC and the Henricopolis Soil and Water Conservation District partnered to co-hold this important agricultural easement. The Lipford easement was the first easement where the District and CRLC joined forces creating a partnership that continues today.

"I love my land. I learned that love from my parents, and their parents before them. I’ve walked these fields since I was a child. I couldn’t bear the idea of them being paved over."
