
Invasive Species Removal at Roger’s Woods

Save Tuesday morning, February 24 to CRLC in controlling invasive species at our Roger’s Woods conservation area located near the Buttermilk Trail and which will be added to the James River Park System. This special cleanup event is in partnership with the Friends of James River Park and James River Park System’s Invasive Species Task Force and an activity of the 2026 Richmond Invasive Species Awareness Week, a week of activities focused on invasive species in and around the James River Park System.

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Familiarity with invasive species is helpful but not necessary. Handtools will be provided but volunteers are welcome to bring their own.
Time Commitment:
2 Hours – Tuesday, February 24, 2026 10:00am-12:00pm
Other Information:
Please dress comfortably as we will be outside for the duration of the project. Regardless of the weather, we strongly recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy shoes to protect yourself from plants such as briars and poison ivy. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water.
Please feel free to bring your favorite tools from home and work gloves. We look forward to working with you! In the event of storms or heavy rain, this event will be rescheduled.
