Protecting the Chickahominy River

In 2017, Capital Region Land Conservancy recorded a conservation easement on 171 acres owned by Pit Conservancy, LLC in Henrico County. The easement protects approximately 78 acres of bottomland hardwoods and wetlands furthering Chesapeake Bay watershed protection goals. The easement also protects over 70 acres of upland forest and meadows helping to retain the rural scenic qualities of eastern Henrico County and views of and from the Chickahominy River, a designated State Scenic River, which borders the property to the north.
