CRLC Welcomes Senator Tim Kaine to Fields, Forests & Streams Celebration!

Don’t Miss Our 20th Anniversary Fundraiser!

We are excited to announce that Virginia U.S. Senator Tim Kaine will be our guest speaker at this year’s “Fields, Forests & Streams” fundraiser!

Join us in celebration of CRLC’s 20 years of protecting the land you love in the Richmond region at historic Maymont on Sunday, September 21 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at The Robins Nature Center.

Senator Kaine has served people throughout his life as a teacher, civil rights lawyer, and elected official. He is one of only thirty people in American history to be a mayor, governor, and U.S. Senator. (Not to mention, a candidate for vice president.)

Come hear about his storied career and efforts to serve and protect the natural resources of the nation and here at home in Virginia, such as working with CRLC on conserving the James River Park System during his time as Mayor, his 400,000 acres goal as Governor, and projects like Dock Street and saving “The View That Named Richmond” (pictured). As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Senator Kaine will also enthrall us with accounts of his 2019 three-part journey to hike, cycle, and canoe across Virginia, which became the basis of his renowned 2024 memoir, Walk, Ride, Paddle: A Life Outside.

This year’s special edition of our annual event offers guests an evening on the terrace of Maymont’s The Robins Nature Center, featuring food and open bar, opportunities to bid on unique items and experiences in the silent auction, live music by renowned guitarist Chris Vasi, and exclusive access to the Nature Center’s exhibits for the first hour.
Our annual fundraiser offers a fun-filled, family-friendly evening celebrating our conservation successes.
